Welcome! We’re a dynamic team of volunteers, non-government and government organizations, working towards a shared goal of recovering endangered Piping Plovers and conserving beach ecosystems in Atlantic Canada and Québec.
Piping Plovers (Charadrius melodus melodus) need safe, healthy coastal beaches to nest and raise young. Hatching and raising a family of four on the beach isn’t always easy. From hungry predators to hundreds of people, there are lots of threats. During spring and summer, many people work as a team to help reduce threats to Piping Plovers and foster conservation of beaches through monitoring, habitat protection and stewardship, educational outreach, and research.
